How affiliate links work at Savings Stacks
It’s fair to ask how a free shopping-intelligence tool makes money — and whether that money skews what it recommends. Here’s the plain answer to both.
Short version: we may earn a commission on some links, and that commission never decides which option we show first.
What an affiliate link is
When we send you to a retailer and you buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. This is standard for shopping and deal sites, and it's how the service stays free for you. It doesn't add anything to your price.
The part that matters: commission never affects ranking
Our recommendation order is decided by your savings, not by what we earn. The intelligence that ranks buying paths for selected stores and products is commission-blind by design — it doesn't read affiliate or monetization data when it ranks options. If a store that pays us nothing is the better choice, it ranks first.
What we don't do
- We don't silently rewrite or hijack links.
- We don't bury a cheaper, non-commissionable option to favor one that pays.
- We don't require a browser extension or broad permissions to show you a price.
Where you'll see disclosure
Every page that recommends a buying path carries an affiliate disclosure, and the full policy lives on our affiliate-disclosure page. If we add optional features (like an extension or assistant) later, they'll carry the same disclosure.
Why we're this transparent
The whole product is built on trust: offers verified where possible, last-checked dates, and an honest empty state when we don't have data. Hiding how we make money would undercut that — so we say it plainly, and we keep ranking and revenue separated.
The takeaway
Affiliate commissions keep Savings Stacks free, and they're walled off from the ranking. The option we recommend is the one that saves you the most — not the one that pays us the most. See also how we verify offers.
